Habitual Forgiveness (A Girl Devotional Series)

You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.

Nehemiah 9:17

How do you feel when your hurt by a friend? Are you angry? Do you feel sad? These are questions that always haunts us don’t they. Forgiveness is not an easy thing. I know because when something bad happens, sometimes you can say I’m sorry, but allot of times it is to late. Never, let the sun go down on your wrath, no matter what the situation is. Of course, you must always enter with caution.

But the moral is that God is willing to forgive you over and over and over! He loves you that much. Even though we do not deserve it, he still hears our plea for forgiveness. So, is their someone in your life that has hurt you? If so, It’s hard, isn’t it? But you must forgive them, to free yourself from the torment and guilt. Be brave and face the music head on with God’s help. This reminds me of the woman caught in the act of adultery in the bible.

The people wanted to stone her, but Jesus calmly said this, when he convicted her accusers.

7″He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”John 8:7

Then Jesus asked the woman where are your accusers?

11 “She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8:11

You see God is a forgiving God, although still we must do our part and go and sin no more. So, I say encourage one another, because we all sin and come short.

Dear Father, I thank you for your unfailing love and forgiveness. Father, you forgive my mistakes and my selfish acts over and over. So help me to also forgive my neighbor of their sins against me to. I am thankful. Amen.
