This is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is the like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself”
What does this mean to you? Do you love those that are sometimes hard to love? Or, do you do the complete opposite, and turn a blinded eye to them? Haven’t we all been guilty of this act? Indeed. But, when push comes to shove, most people will say that God is powerful and important. But, after God, what’s in the number two spot of most important priority? The Bible says number two is others. Now, here’s the serious part loving others in the same way you love yourself. What does that mean? Well, you take care of yourself, keep yourself safe, make yourself look good, in general, you look out for yourself.
God says to do the same for others, too, and not only for those you know. He means even people you don’t know well or people you don’t especially like. Hey, I know it’s not going to be easy, but you can always ask God for help.
Their is not shame in asking!!!
Dear Father, I thank you for helping me when needed you the most. I thank you for comforting me when I’m disgruntled. I pray that I can show the same love, comfort, and compassion to someone else who needs what you showed me. Amen.
