“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these will be given to you as well.”
Have you ever gave a gift, but didn’t really want too? Did you want to take it back? Well, I’m not going to judge! Nevertheless, here is why withholding back or taking back has it’s consequences. Genesis 4:4-6 Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.… 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7“If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”
God looks at the heart above all things, not by deeds, but by the intentions of the person.
You can’t outgive God. That’s the cool thing about living your life for Him. You never have to feel like you’re giving something up to serve God. The only thing you’ll be looking at in your rear-view mirror is selfishness, unkindness, loneliness ans sin. See, some people will tell you that being a Christian takes the fun out of your life.
Therefore, Jesus said that obeying Him, learning about Him, and serving Him will actually add success, happiness and joy to your life. Sounds like a good decision doesn’t?
Dear Father, I thank you for giving us this revelation. Father I ask for your forgiveness and mercy for withholding myself from you. Therefore, you have never withheld from me. You are the greatest example that I pray to follow. Amen.
