Celebrating Movies of 2016: Allied

As 2016 comes to a close, I must say the many talented actors and actresses laid their hearts out for everyone to see on the big screen. The movies of this year made us cry, share laughs, and sparked controversy.  The movie that did all of the above was the new Brad Pitt movie “Allied”.  The movie is based  in 1942, Max Vatan (Brad Pitt),  while in North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. The pair reunited in London, but their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

The plot was very much complex, in fact I honestly felt as though I was in the movie.  The way Brad Pitt spoke was so passionate, showing real emotion and seeing him as a family man warmed my heart. Not to mention Marion Cotillard, a thousand standing ovation for her role in being a freedom fighter while still being intertwined with the enemy. Seriously! She was Brad Pitt’s wife and his enemy at the same time. I really don’t want to tell you everything about the movie to be a spoiler, if you have not seen it yet.  Allied is still in theaters so you can experience this amazing masterpiece. By the way, Brad Pitt is getting some Oscar Buzz so keep your finger crossed.
