Music for the Culture: A Seat at The Table

Before the year comes to a close, we were all mesmerized with this soulful and raw album by Solange Knowles. The album that makes our food better is called :“A Seat at The Table “. The name alone is deep and complex and I love it!  My style of music is very classic, R&B, soul, and even country baby. I feel so much of these different genres in this album, but most importantly the R&B/Soul is the driving force. A Seat at The Table truly brings back  real music along with her older sisters album Lemonade, by Beyonce.

After the successful release of “Don’t  Touch My Hair”. Solange has received  her first Grammy nomination! She was nominated for Best R&B Performance for “Cranes In The Sky.” Let me tell you! Cranes in the Sky is my song and I feel so relaxed when I listen to it. I am so proud of Solange for taking time for her own journey and look at the reward! With her first number-one album on the Billboard 200 in the United States, debuting with 46,000 copies sold (72,000 with additional album-equivalent units. This is such a testament to being patience and waiting on God.

Here is a Live performance of Solange on Jimmy Fallon:

Grammy’s airs  on February 12, 2017, 8:00 PM PST.

P.S. Keep your fingers crossed for Beyonce and Solange to sing together at the Grammy’s. I know this is just wishful thinking, but I’m hoping.

Support this beautiful artist by purchasing her album.
