The new Beauty and the Beast movie that’s premiering next month is the most anticipated Disney movie yet. The movie is going to be in 3D and IMAX which will create a magical experience that will make this remake better than most remakes that I’ve seen. Although I’m looking forward to seeing this movie on my sister’s birthday, I am not excited about the opening score by Ariana Grande & John Legend. The classic opening score was originally made by Celion Dion and Peabo Bryson. I am not expecting both songs to sound the same, but I can certainty tell the difference.
The opening score in the trailer of the movie sounds more romantic and the tempo flows well with Ariana and John Legends voices, but the studio version of the song is very much off key. Below is a my review video taking about the theme song and who should have replaced John Legend in the song for the studio and trailer. I do not want take away from his artistry, but this song did not fit his voice.
The movies premise is about Belle who is a young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle in exchange for the freedom of her father Maurice. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and she learns to look beyond the Beast’s exterior to recognize the true heart and soul of the human Prince within. Meanwhile, a hunter named Gaston is on the loose to take Belle for himself and later intends to hunt down the Beast at any cost.
