Have a Wonderful Week

“Make each day count no matter how many no’s or disappointment surrounds you.” Danna Davis

“We live between the act of awakening and the act of surrender. Each morning, we awaken to the light and the invitation to a new day in the world of time; each night, we surrender to the dark to be taken to play in the world of dreams where time is no more.”- John O’Donohue

Growing Up Right (A Girl Devotional Series)

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”

Proverbs 22:6

How do you define the word training? What does it mean to you? Are you afraid of being disciplined in your training? Do you know how to express your feelings? If not, please listen! The statements above, are the thoughts of my adolescent self. The mind that I had, is not the mind that I have now. I am more honest as to why, I thought the word training meant, growing up to fast, or not even having time to just be me. Which was definitely not the truth. My growth process was so beautiful, and I had so much time, to find out what my purpose is.

Nevertheless, I know now that my mind was so focused on the negative, instead of the positive. You know, my only regret is not giving myself a chance. As the old saying goes, we are our worse critics!

So instead of getting down on yourself, give yourself a chance and allow yourself to grow tall!

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me this chance, to realize how I should think and I’m sorry for not appreciating the journey you are leading me on. I pray for understanding, so that I may truly see your purpose for my life. I love you. Amen.

Mercy (A Girl Devotional Series)

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”

Matthew 5:7

Have you ever been in a situation where you were angry? Did you swear never too forgive? If so, how did it work out for you? Before you ponder on my questions, first listen to the word of God. God’s word is mercy and love. I remember when I was younger, I always use to get myself in a whole lot of trouble. Even now, I’m still grateful for the siblings that I have, because I was like Ramona the pest to them! They character that my siblings represented, was the spirit of mercy. They understood that I was young and didn’t fully understand right from wrong.

The purpose of me sharing this story, is too stretch that we need to be identified by the mercy of God. Our father in heaven sent His only son to die in our place, that in itself is mercy. So, God is the creator of all hosts, and He showed mercy to us. So why shouldn’t we return the favor to someone else.

Dear Father, I thank you for showing mercy on me. I know now that you were always there for me Father, even when I did very bad things. You have saved me and washed me clean. My life is indebted too you. Amen.
